Harper and Realmuto still absent from Phillies' lineup, Gregorius returns

The Phillies' top two position players were out of the starting lineup for a second straight game Saturday night.

There was no official word from the team, but it was assumed that right fielder Bryce Harper was out once again with a sore left wrist and catcher J.T. Realmuto with a sore left hand.

Both players missed Friday night's game with those injuries.

The Phillies were also without second baseman Jean Segura, who remains on the injured list with a strained quad.

The Phillies, who entered the game at 13-13, good for first place in the NL East, did get shortstop Didi Gregorius back. He missed Friday night's game after being placed in COVID-19 protocol.

Outfielder Roman Quinn was placed in COVID-19 protocol before Saturday night's game. Mickey Moniak came back from the alternate site to take Quinn's place.

Harper was hit in the face by a 97-mph fastball Wednesday night and remarkably avoided serious injury. However, the ball ricocheted off his cheek and struck his wrist, causing some swelling and pain. On Friday, he said he hoped to play Saturday. It's unclear if he's available off the bench.

Realmuto injured his hand trying to block a wild pitch in St. Louis on Thursday. The ball hit the heel of his hand at the bottom of his catcher's mitt. He felt discomfort swinging a bat before Friday's game and was scratched. Apparently, he needed another day. It's not clear if he's available off the bench.

Here's the Phillies' lineup for Saturday night's game against the Mets and right-hander Taijuan Walker.
