More on Bryzgalov's ‘We The People' Mask, and a Phillies-Themed Winter Classic Mask on the Way?

We were pretty excited to see that Christian Menno of phillyBurbs.com went out to visit with Franny from Drummond Custom Airbrush, who designed the "We The People" mask for new Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov [pictures]. If you're as into goalie masks as we are, head on over to check out both his writeup and video discussing what led to his design of one of the masks Bryzgalov will wear this season.

Drummond also teases what we might expect to see for a Winter Classic mask...

Some of it is what we'd assumed—that the mask was based on Bryzgalov's interest in history and learning more about the rich history in Philly. It's perhaps a little surprising that Bryz will wear the Philly-themed mask on the road, but it's understandable that he prefers the orange Tiger mask with his Orange home jersey.

We'd also been wondering about a possible 2012 Winter Classic mask for Bryz, assuming he'd be getting one based on his penchant for mask collecting and the trend of WC goalies getting a special lid for the occasion. (Remember Tuukka Rask's?) Drummond says he is working on a Phillies-themed mask for Bryz, which is just about the complete physical embodiment of everything we're excited about when it comes to the Flyers playing on the field at Citizens Bank Park.*
