The NCAA announced the punishment for Penn State University and its football program on Monday for the role it played in allowing the monster Jerry Sandusky to commit atrocious crimes against children for years. The fine was an eye-opening $60 million with no bowl eligibility for four seasons. There will also be a significant reduction in scholarships.
The real gut punch to the Penn State football community, however, is the NCAA vacating every win the team earned from 1998 to 2011. Joe Paterno is no longer the winningest coach in NCAA football history.
