NFL Draft 2020: All the wildest, weirdest moments of the virtual draft you might have missed

Share

If you haven’t heard, last night’s draft was a night unlike ever before. Quite literally, as this was the first-ever virtual live draft in league history. While for the most part execution ran pretty smoothly — apart from the Cowboys grabbing a prospect Philadelphia coveted — there of course were a few things that stood out. It felt strange to be peeking in to the lives of all these coaches, GMs, and prospects, but it made for some fantastic moments.

Dave Gettlemen may have shocked us all by still properly connecting over Wifi, despite his unusual set up, but the first virtual draft was not without some weird, eccentric, heart-warming, and downright wild moments.

Here are some of the best ones.

Roger Goodell’s costume change

Listen, it was a long night so I get it going for #teamcomfy towards the end.

Henry Rugg’s glamorous robe

Hey, it’s quarantine attire at it’s best. Turns out, this was actually for a pretty awesome reason though.

The CeeDee cell phone grab

While his name is now banned from Philadelphia, this is still an absolutely hilarious moment as he swipes his cell phone from his girlfriend sitting next to him. This one writes itself.

Javon Kinlaw’s father's reaction to him getting selected

This is the support we all need.

Gooddell announcing that the 2020 draft would be happening … again.

Word fumble, but still funny.

Isaiah Wilson’s mom

She was having none of that.

Mike Vrabel’s kids

This happened late in the draft, but should not be overlooked because of how absurd this is. The more you look the weirder it gets.

Jerry Jones drafting from his yacht

Ugh, this guy.

Brian Flores’ kids

This is just precious.

The Andy Reid picture that launched a thousand memes

Never change, Andy.

Doug Pederson’s adorably precious and certified Dad setup

Big dad evergy.
