Several Flyers required surgery this off-season, but Scott Hartnell and Jeff Carter won't join them.

"Both were checked for hip issues and neither will require anything done surgically," GM Paul Holmgren said.

Carter led the Flyers with 36 goals this season and was third in points with 66 in 80 games.

Hartnell scored 24 goals this season and had 25 assists, playing in all 82 games this season. He also led the Flyers in penalty minutes with 142.

Chris Pronger (back), Mike Richards (wrist), Andrej Meszaros (wrist), Blair Betts (finger) and Michael Leighton (hip) had surgery this week.
