What's the exact severity of Samuel Morin's reported injury? That is uncertain, but, with a little bit of patience, we should know more soon about the outlook for the Flyers' defenseman heading into training camp.
On Sunday, CrossingBroad.com's Anthony SanFilippo reported Morin had "once again suffered a significant knee injury." On Monday, Riley Cote, a former Flyer and current cohost of the Nasty Knuckles podcast, tweeted out a text message exchange between him and Morin. In the conversation, the Flyers' defenseman said one of his knees got banged up a little but the injury was "nothing major."
Inevitably, with the initial report, concern permeated the Twittersphere given the 26-year-old Morin has endured two torn ACLs in his right knee since May 2018, both happening in a span of 19 months. Last season, the persistent, happy-go-lucky blueliner played a career-high 20 games before signing a one-year, $750,000 contract extension in July.

"When you tear your ACL twice, still a little bit of pain in my knee, it takes like a year or two before you feel like 100 percent," Morin said in May. "I just see myself next year, I think I'm going to be skating even better, like without pain and stuff. I'm going to be buzzing I think. I'll be ready to go."
Flyers training camp begins Thursday with the club's first official on-ice practice. When healthy, Morin is expected to compete for playing time in the Flyers' experienced defensive group and slotted to be the club's seventh defenseman.
Head coach Alain Vigneault is set to address the media Tuesday at noon ET, so we should at least find out more then on Morin's status.
