Disappointing day for Union has happy ending for one player (cute dog alert)

Saturday was yet another disappointing day for the Philadelphia Union (stop me if you've heard that before).

The team settled for a 2-2 draw at home against Montreal in a game played in a driving rain accompanied by strong wind off the Delaware. No team wants to draw at home, but the Union will rue this one even more, since they had the chance to play the last half hour with an extra man. That advantage was nullified, not just by Montreal taking a 2-1 lead while playing a man down (off the foot of former Union player  Jack McInerney, of course), but by a second yellow card for goal-scorer Eric Ayuk that ended the game 10-vs.-10.

But the day did have a happy ending of sorts for one Union player, and anyone with a heart, really.

Not long before kickoff, Sebastien Le Toux tweeted out an alert that teammate Cristian "Chaco" Maidana had lost his dog the night before in Northeast Philadelphia.

Le Toux tweeted that the dog's name is "Botas" and to contact he or Maidana with any information.

The two Le Toux tweets were retweeted 162 and 63 times, respectively.

Maidana played 81 minutes against Montreal, but anyone who has a dog would understand if his head was slightly elsewhere.

The story ends well, though, since Maidana had a great surprise waiting for him when he got home.

For those who slept through Spanish class, the tweet says "Thanks to everyone who was worried about my dog. I want to let you know he is with me now. Thanks!"

But that photo says it all, no matter the language.
