The Weeknd to perform at halftime of Super Bowl 55

With four albums and a legendary mixtape run to his name, The Weeknd will be performing on the biggest stage in the industry: the singer is the halftime entertainment for the 2021 Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida.

The Weeknd, the stage name of Abel Tesfaye, released his most recent album, After Hours, in 2020. The record includes two chart-topping singles in "Heartless" and "Blinding Lights." The Weeknd has three other songs that have come in atop the Billboard Hot 100 with the smash hits "Starboy," "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My Face."

During last year's Super Bowl halftime show, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez performed with special guests Bad Bunny and J Balvin in Miami.

Super Bowl 55 will start with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET, meaning that the halftime show will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. ET.
