Breakup day comes somewhat earlier than the Flyers expectedMonday morning at Skate Zone.
At that time, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren will give the final tally on injured players and offseason surgeries, but Holmgren said Sunday that Mike Richards will likely need wrist surgery, adding the club will have better insight later this week.
At least, now we know why Richards was having such great difficulty winning faceoffs during the Boston series. He won just 39.2 percent of his draws20 of 51.
Holmgren said he was uncertain whether Chris Pronger will need back surgery. His status will be updated later in the week.
Pronger has either a bulging or herniated disk. He also had a bad hamstring pull that kept him from returning in the Bruins series, after Game 1.
