Claude Giroux couldn't take home the fountain faceoff crown in the 2022 NHL All-Star Skills.

With the Bellagio fountains serving as the backdrop to the unique event, Giroux finished the accuracy competition in 22.6 seconds.

Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski won the challenge, beating Predators defenseman Roman Josi in the final.

The event was pre-taped Thursday night but aired Friday during the skills competition in Las Vegas.

Giroux is representing the Flyers at the All-Star Game for the seventh time in his career.

He's enjoying it with his wife Ryanne and their 2-year-old son Gavin.

"Any time you get to go play with the best in the league, it's always great," Giroux said Wednesday in an interview with Flyers senior director of communications Zack Hill. "This year is a little bit more special with having Gavin coming with us, so it should be some good memories."

The All-Star Game is Saturday (3 p.m. ET/ABC). With Alex Ovechkin out because of COVID protocols, Giroux will captain the Metropolitan Division team.
