Durant uses first pick on Embiid in All-Star draft hours after trade

For Sixers fans, March 10 isn't a bad date to circle on the calendar following Thursday's trade that sent James Harden to Philadelphia and Ben Simmons to the Nets.

Brooklyn will visit Wells Fargo Center that night. If he plays, it'll be Simmons' first game in the arena since the Sixers' Game 7 loss to the Hawks in the second round of the playoffs last June.

Feb. 20 is also a decent date to have in mind. The Sixers have four games before the All-Star Game in Cleveland. And of course, in Joel Embiid and Harden, they've got two selections for the fourth straight season.

One of Harden's former co-stars, Kevin Durant, took Embiid with his first pick Thursday night in the All-Star draft.

He also addressed the major deal that broke about five hours before.

Durant won't play in the game because of a left MCL sprain. NBA commissioner Adam Silver chose LaMelo Ball as his replacement.

Harden, who missed Brooklyn's last three games with left hamstring tightness, slipped to the bottom of the draft board, going 23rd overall to LeBron James' team. Here are the full draft results:

Less than a year ago, Simmons and Embiid became the first Sixers duo to make three consecutive All-Star Games since Moses Malone and Julius Erving.
